I just bought a 2001 CL500. I want to put new rims and tires on it. Most people tell me to get 20" rims. I'm wondering what ones to get. Also, can anyone tell me how that will effect my ride as far as performance and comfort go. I was told that I will not be able to drive as aggressively and it will be a bumpier ride. Is that true? What size tires should I put on it with 20" rims? I was told that it would look good to stagger them with 8" in the front and 10" in the back. Any suggestions? Any pictures so I can compare. Thanks!

If you put 20" rims on that car you won't have a ride, but you can go to 18" rims fine and get a good tire like a bridgestone. good luck

I wouldn't put anything larger than 18" if your roads are in bad shape. I have 19" on my CL55 and I've gone through 3 tires and 2 bent rims (no kidding) in only 9200 miles. I am back to the OEM 18" rims and may keep it that way just from a sanity standpoint.
