My wife bought a 2009 B200 this past spring. Now we are getting ready for winter. I am wondering if there are any 15" rims that will fit on a 2009 B200? I see in older posts that there is mention of 15" rims used on Bs. I am just wondering if this is still the case on a 2009. Whether 15s will fit or not, any recommended sources of steel and/or alloy rims?

TIA,
Steve

In Europe, 15 inch rims in steel were available. The dealer should be able to special order a set if you really want the size and don't mind the reduced ground clearance.

Thanks for the reply. No need to lose any ground clearance. I will use a tire with more sidewall. Narrower with more sidewall is better in winter driving conditions anyway. This is why I want to use 15s. Thanks again.

Any good tire shop (look around and get feedback for local places) will be able to help you "minus size" to get the closest overall circumference on a 15" wheel. That way you'll have the same ground clearance (as mentioned), and minimal speedo error.

Steel is good enough for winter.

Check tirerack.com for info on good winter tires - they don't have the B listed last time I checked (since it wasn't available there from factory), but you'll get good info there.

Actually, I already have a set of 195/65R15 Hakkas from my old Jetta that I only used for only one winter. The Jetta came with 205/55R16s like the B does and I minus sized for the winter tires on it. So I'm good with tires. Now I just need some rims. I just wanted to make sure a 15" rim would clear the calipers before investing in rims.

Thanks for all the help so far,
Steve

Good plan, the ride should be better on 65 series tires too.

I emailed tires23 to inquire whether they had 15" rims available for my 2009 B200. He told me that a 15" rim would not clear the brakes. Now, being the suspicious guy I am, I am left wondering if he is right or if he just wants to sell me the 16" rims he has for sale. Any ideas? Any ideas where I can find a 15" rim for my B?

Go to a reputable wheel shop. They should be able to hook you up with a 15" wheel with the right offset and confirm if it clears everything. Dealers tend to follow their script sometimes too much.

K went to check car hoping the wheel tire sticker on the door jamb would list a15" size but no...o/m also nothing...only useful info was a 6" wide rim should have a 46mm offset. There's def. Space to the caliper and we know in other parts 15" wheels were available so a tire shop should be able to set u up.
