I recently put some mag wheels on my 86 300e and when i let the jack down the right rear wheels was locked up and would only rotate a couple inches,
i originally had the longer wheel studs in and then changed to some short onnes but it was still locked up,

so far i taken the wheel back off and removed the brake calipers but its still jammed how do i fix this?

its only the right side jamming up the left side is fine

Sounds like your P-brake is actuated. Take the rotor off the right side and check to make sure the P-brake shoes aren't dislodged.

C300 2011 Model Wheel Repair

Recently while I was driving on a highway my rear right wheel got locked up all of a sudden and I couldn't able to drive. Here is the link for similar kind of problem that I have faced.

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w124-e-ce-d-td-class/1666387-right-rear-wheel-locking-up.html

It's exactly the same problem that I got.

I towed my car to a Mercedes dealer. For all the damages he gave me $5200 quote. Below are the parts of car that got damaged with price.

Rear Drive Axle or Drive Shaft Diagnosis - $138.95
Break System Diagnosis - $138.75
Rear Axle Shaft Hub Bearing Kit, R&R - $1002.62
Parking Break Pads/Shoes, R&R - $634.39
Damaged - $234.38
Rear Back Rotor, R&R - $572.97
Parking Break Cable, Rear, R&R - $550.28
Rear Wheel Carrier - $1792.00

Total it's coming around $5200

I am in a confusion weather to bear all these expenses or trade in my car?

Is there any way that I can get a less quote from other dealer or better trade id value.

Please suggest and give your thoughts!

Thanks.

You are in the wrong sub-forum. W124's stopped at 1995.

I agree this isn't the right place for a 2011 model discussion however $5200 is awfully expensive to fix something on one side only. What will you do if this happens to the other side? Do you have an independent repair shop around to get their opinion of the repair cost? There looks like a lot of "fat" in that estimate (example; over $600 to service one parking brake assembly? $600 to repair one brake ?). Someone is on crack and I think its the service writer at your dealership.

He's gouging you because you towed the car in and he has you by the bxxxs :crying

Pretty sure service writers get a piece of the pie.

1st, get spell check, then post this on the proper forum with a completed profile. Brakes break! Once brakes break, they're broken.
