My right hand horn sit right behind the headlamp, and not behind the bumper as I read elsewhere?

Its not working, I removed it and tested it on a spare battery - its dead, BUT ................. so is the wiring?? I connected my electrical tester to the wires and pushed the horn (on steering wheel) and, nothing!
I do not understand perhaps the horn had gone bad and caused another problem. The left side horn does work.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the horn?

Aha, I might be wrong I did not know that the alarm use a separate horn?
That might be why there is no reading on my volt meter when I push the horn.

Hi Johan
Sorry i mistak't with my other Car wich has the Alarm light on the Dash & the Tripcomputer alarm in the W140 ,whereever fitted , the W140's fitted with the Alarm by MB have a verry small triangle fitted with a square Button in the Centre of it , on either the left or right side ( maybe both sides (?)-) above where the Seatbelts retracts into on the Top ,it should look like a Square press Button, this will only alowe u to have a Dog or a Person sitting in the Car with the Alarm On , when you arm the Alarm ( if Fitted ) the Blinkers should also flash once or twice but some dont even do that .
AS for the Horn Power ,i could b wrong ( wouldent surprise me ) but it could well be that the right hand Horn supplies the Power to the Left hand side Horn and thats why most likely ,when we check if there is Power and there is none ,that you need to have someone to push the Hornbutton while you check if there is any Power to it with your Power checking Gadjet ( did this make any sense ? lol ) ,if it does work out to b like this it would explain why my Horn started working again after i installed a New MB one .
Hopefully this will help u out , i Surrender .:surrender:
Ciao
Alarm info is on Page 41 in the Owners Manual (S500 Manual)

Early ATA does not have a warning light, mine doesnt, my car does not have an immobilizer, yet the horns will go off if you open a door without unlocking the car properly, 10 min after you have previously locked it.

Hi Johan
Let me understand one thing, you say that your Horn is behind the Headlamp, where it cannot be acsessed from the bottom but only by opening the Hood , right ?,have you had a look from underneat the Front Bumper ,look up onto the far sides with a Torch and look for the Horns or maybe even the Connectors or a holding bracket ,what i come up with is that the supposed to be Horn behind the Headlamp must be 1 of the Alarm Horns instead ,since those need a more secure Space / Position within the Car as Car thieves could cut the wiring from underneat, pretty obvious ,u know what i mean ,my Car has a loose connector on the right side too,it's a slightly bigger black Connector plug,it just sitts there ,i have no idea what it is ,it could well b that it is what u have there ,i will investigate into this .
Ciao

You can not even reach it from above, its behind the headlamp in the headlamp cradle - you have to remove the headlamp to get to it.
I'll look under the car this afternoon.

I would still like to know how do I determine whether my car has an alarm system or not?

That makes 2 of us , i never heard mine or have seen any sirens or flashing Blinkers or have a Triangle fitted above the Seatbelts but the Manual says that it supposed to arm in 10 seconds ,i guess that it is not fitted , i will have to hire a Car thief and see what happens ,LOL,or force a door open and see if it goes of ,on my Alfa Romeo Gt all i had to do was Kick a Tyre hard inaf and it would go off .
