The reverse swich is on the side of your gear box. There is a black cable leading to a round plug. Unscrew the metal ring and hey presto there's your switch. Swich should cost about £20ish. Check it is your swich first though by bridging the two pins in the plug with a short piece of wire.

reversing switch Vito 108d

Thanks vanish for that not sure if ive got the right one mind. Is the switch more or less in front of you when you open the bonnet off to the right a black plastic cover protects the two wires in. it has a metal ring surrounding and a large nut beyond. I assumed this was the one checked the two wires by bringing them together through a meter both in and out of reverse open circuit showed. My first attempt in reverse started to smoke at an earth point however the wires at the switch are partly bear maybe i touched somehow the two together if i did mind surely it would only complete a circuit? Have i got the right switch help vanish or someone
