Hi Guys,

I need your expertise on this matter. My reverse light does not work no more. I checked the bulb and they were fine, so my other suspect was the switch.

Can anyone here tell me where to find the reverse switch? How hard is it to replace it? Please help!

Thank you in advance

The reverse switch is common with the neutral start. It is located on the side of the transmission where the linkage attaches, behind the arm. There are 4 contacts, 2 for N & P contact and 2 for R.

First, make sure that the adjustment is correct and the bushings at both ends of the rod are good.

You can test the switch with a meter. Sorry, I don't have the info handy about which pins are the corrrect ones.

JoeR,

Thanks for your info.

I am assuming that I have to go under the car and find the transmission box. How do I make sure that adjustment is correct?

Any expertise is much appreciated.

hi. i think that switch for the white reverse lights is
right next to the gear knob! just take the leather cover of the knob and look on the right side of the gear knob
you'll find a typical switch, press it and if the lights
are off just change it.

Andy-gks,

Thanks for your info. My car is automatic though, and I don't see any switch by the knob.

Anyone please help me locate the reverse switch and how to fix or test it?

Thank you,
