I have a 3 pin tach removed from a W123, 300TD, model 1985 (with EGR controlled set-up)

The objective is to allow the 3-pin tach to be used with the 2-pin system in a W123, 300TD model 1982 (without EGR)

1 - Is it possible to refrofit the 3 pin tach using an amplifier from an 82-84 model ?
2- What should be the the connections ? forget (-G) ?

Thanks

Won't work... well let me rephrase that, it won't work accurately.

If you've swapped in a new cluster and you want to get the tach working, you can swap in the correct tach module. They are all pretty much the same configuration, but have different movements and different electronics. Here's just an example - the movements are different and the circuit boards are different but the mounting is the same. (For example I'm running a '85 300D Cali tach module in my 380SL cluster with the EGR controller and tach pickup from the '85)

On the otherhand if you've got just the module and you want to use the EGR controller tach module with a tach-amp module, it won't work. You'll have to get the right one, or swap in all the proper pickup components as well.
