Is there any way to reset the computer ECU back to factory default without going to the dealership

Does this below work..

1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.

2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.

3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.

4. Wait at least two minutes for ECU to reset.

Does this reset the instrument cluster also ??

Maybe if you could explain the problems you are having and exactly why you want to reset the ECU and the instrument cluster, we could help.

My analog odometer is displaying miles and my digital display is showing km. Every time I go thru the menu to try and change from km to miles nothing happens. So I think something is wrong with ECU..

I see, this has nothing to do with the ECU but will need the use of DAS diagnostic equipment to rectify this problem, and thus means a trip to the workshop.

Hey man my son just got a 2010 ml350 and I drove it down the highway and was not familiar with the car. I believe I downshifted and well when I get back the engine light is on. Freaked out bcz I think I ruins his car. Do you know anything about this? It ran good after except when you stop it shakes a little like the plugs are misfiring

I have a new air suspension compressor on my gl450 and I am still not getting power to the compressor. All fuses look good and I don't have any leaks. The rely is new also. What could be the problem?
