Either a greedy seller or bad advice from BAT, IMO.

I believe that car was purchased 2 years ago in the mid 50K range. Give it 10 more years.I hope BAT charges a significant fee for clowns wasting everybody's time with a super-high reserve.
I wonder if BAT or the seller made this mistake "The unit-body chassis featured independent suspension and four-piston disc brakes at all four corners"5500-Mile 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL | Bring a Trailer

What is the point? If not driven regularly doesn't that cause mechanical parts to seize up, fluids to go bad, etc.? Meaning on the rare occasions you do want to drive it, you can't do so without extensive prep? May as well gut it and put the empty chassis in the museum..
Any three digit mileage 107s are future museum/private collection pieces, they'll never see 1K miles.

Some people buy cars for an investment and rarely if at all drive them, others like to drive their cars. I personally wouldn't have the self control of having a car like the R107 sitting in the garage and not driving it.I'm not sayin' it's the right way to treat one, it's just the only way to preserve that kind of value. 1K miles is a big line to cross in that regard.
