Today, I took delivery of a 2002 C32, drove it out of the MB dealer lot and immediately experienced vibration and noise from the rear. It looks like there is something causing the pads/calipers to contact the rotors (maybe the rotors are off?) so I dropped it at the dealer and they are working away.

One thing I noticed was that the front brakes are "AMG"s (gray with AMG lettering) and the rears appear not to look the same at all. In fact, they look rusty when looking at them through the wheel.

Can anyone tell me if the rears should look the same as the fronts and, if so please tell me. If you happen to have a photo of yours handy, I would appreciate hearing from you. My concern is that someone changed rear brakes, but I have nothing to compare to.

Thanks very much.

The rear brakes on the C32 are not AMG brakes rather the regular C Class brakes which you would find on other C classes. If not mistaken the C32 is the only AMG that doesn't have AMG brakes on the rears. I haven't seen a C55 yet but I would think the same. So don't worry about someone switching brakes on you. Enjoy you ride !!
