Hello all! I just bought a 1987 R107 560SL, I'm new to working on Mercedes (I've only worked on BMWs) and wanted a little bit of advice on replacing the high-pressure line for the power steering. I noticed a big leak in my power steering after taking it on its first drive. I think the only thing that is leaking is the high-pressure line but not 100% sure, the power steering gearbox might be leaking too. It looks straightforward but just wanted to get an idea of what replacing the line is like and what it's like to replace the seals in the gearbox if needed.

Here's the one I'm thinking about buying, I've had good luck with rein.

The steering boxes are very prone to leaking, the hoses less so. If you are good with tools then take on the steering box, but if not confident then get it resealed by a shop.

There are a few guides about that show how to do it.

I saw the hose dripping while idling. Power Steering line leak
I'll look into the steering box to see what it's like.
