Hello all,

I need to replace the driver's side weatherstrip above the window on the hardtop of my 560 SL. It's part no. 12 in the following diagram:

I'm just wondering if it's as simple a DIY repair as it seems, or if there are any potential snags that I need to anticipate when replacing the strip. Any tips would be welcome.

I will buy the part from Performance Products, unless there's a better suggestion. Oh yes, one more thing: do I need to get the "left" or "right" side weatherstrip -- that's how Performance has them listed. Sorry for the noob question!

Thanks in advance for your help.

There are small Phillips head screws on the back (vertical) side that need to be worked with. The top (horixontal) part is a friction/adhesive fit into a channel that is pretty tight. you'll need a plastic scraper to work it into place.

And patience, lots and lots of patience. The upper corner can be a bit difficult to get seated just right. Just take it slow and careful.
