Replacing Headlight Assembly - Anzo or Hella?

My '99 E430 headlamps are severely oxidized as well as old (the "problem w. headlight message" appears whenever I start the car). MB parts sellers always have 3 brands for the W210 lamps: some random manufacturer (cheap chinese brand?), Anzo, and Hella.

I know Hella is OEM, but Anzo is nearly $60 more expensive and seems to make high quality products (by its webpage, word of mouth).

Stick with german Hella or go with american Anzo?

Hey, desmic.
The replacement assemblies won't do anything for the malfunction as that is connector related (assuming it is related to the headlamps).

Personally, for the cost involved, I would buy the kit and check the DIY and polish the current ones. If you don't like the results you are only out a few dollars and some elbow grease.

However, in answer to your specific question I would buy the Hellas and get the slick 65 watt bulbs from Daniel Stern lighting with the savings.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg
