Replacing ETA gasket

1075 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  mblink
Hi guys, I have a new gasket for where the ETA sits -- how do I take off the old gasket from the intake manifold?-- it is pasted on hard.

Do I have to replace the gasket everytime the ETA is removed? The old one looks good at least visually.

How do I put the new gasket on? Is there a sort of adhesive to apply. Obviously I have never done this.

Thanks for all the help.

Go slowly with the razor blade, and make sure no pieces of sticker fall down into the intake manifold. I ended up putting a shop rag in the manifold inlet. The gasket on mine was, I suspect, original, and man did it put up a fight.

Getting the new gasket into position correctly was tricky too, it kept wanting to move around when I sat the throttle body down on it. This is one where patience is a requirement, at least, it was on mine.

Good luck!
