Replacing ETA gasket

1074 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  mblink
Hi guys, I have a new gasket for where the ETA sits -- how do I take off the old gasket from the intake manifold?-- it is pasted on hard.

Do I have to replace the gasket everytime the ETA is removed? The old one looks good at least visually.

How do I put the new gasket on? Is there a sort of adhesive to apply. Obviously I have never done this.

Thanks for all the help.

No glue is needed or wanted to put on the new gasket. Ideally, you should always a new gasket whenever the ETA is removed to prevent dirt from getting into the intake manifold and into the engine.

The old gasket can be removed by using a old fashioned razor blade. Take your time and it should come off cleanly without tearing.
