Hi,
My MB specialist has said I need to replace the accelerator assembly on my E320 W124 to make the accelerator smoother (seems to jerk a bit when taking off from a stand still). Do new ones even exist or do I have to find a used one, and if so where would I get one?

Thanks
John

If your car does not have ASR (traction control) then you have a normal accelerator cable type setup. Usually, all that is needed is some lubrication inside the cable jacket with auto trans fluid and adjustment of the cable linkages.

If you DO have ASR (yellow triangle in middle of speedo cluster) then there is no physical cable linkage and everything is controlled by either the electronic sensor at the pedal and the electronic throttle body inside the engine compartment.

The auto trans fluid is the lube. Just use a good quality non-synthetic Dexron-III fluid, the same you would use in the transmission.

A syringe with a long applicator needle at the end like this:
[ame]http://www.amazon.com/Syringes-Blunt-Fill-Needles-pack/dp/B003EE5GUS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1350282789&sr=8-4&keywords=syringe+with+needle[/ame]

So your car does NOT have ASR then, correct???
