'99 W220 with five-speed goes into limp-mode occasionally. DAS reports stored codes (more or less):
  • 4 Internal testing showed that the electrical component of Y3/6Y4 (3/4 shift solenoid) has failed.
  • 100 Internal testing showed that the electrical component of Y3/6Y4 (3/4 shift solenoid) has intermittently failed.
  • 147 The gear is sporadically implausible or the transmission is sporadically slipping.
The assumption is that the main repair would be to replace the shift solenoid. If you do that, would it make most sense to change the conductor plate? Do these codes also indicate a problem with the speed sensor?

Need check wiring, could be problem at exhaust pipe. And protector plate at connector on AT could damage a wiring.
Also need check oil in TCU, and in connector AT.
Also need check oil for metal dust. If exist need repair whole of transmission and conductor plate.
Also from TCU you can test solenoids on resisting.
And flares(last error). Could from valve body or piston one of clutches.

Yeah first is to look for fluid in Tcu, clean if needed . If that’s not it next step is conductor plate , if that doesn’t fix it next step is replace valve body and solenoids with good used one
