can't tell the place in the car from the pictures. I assume the tubing broke at the hinge where it flex the most. Few years back I was restoring vacuum locking system on W123. Most of the problems were with rubber diaphragms, while 20 years old tubings flexing with the doors and hatches were still in decent condition. Yours might be the first on to date that broke on W210

My apologies.

It came from the PSP pump. Going to yes, the hinge. There were 2 other black vacuum tubes attached to the hinge.

It must been a combination of tension and shaking when I close the trunk.

Although, closing this trunk is quieter than most of vehicles I come across. Is this just me or are there others reading this, that can agree?

Simple fix.
