Does anybody have an idea how to get the third brake light out of an E320 Wagon? Additionally, if it is out and proves faulty, does anybody have a suggestion to repairing or replacing besides coughing up $177 dollars? Seems excessive.

There is no way the bulb replacement will cost $177. There should be an easy way to get into the light assembly.
