The front armrest (between the two front seats) on my 89 190E had considerable damage to the top. I think for now, until I get it recovered, I would like to simply remove it. Is this an easy process? Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? Any ideas on if it would look stupid?

Thanks

To remove the armrest, you have to remove the rear panel of the seat, which is held in place with two screws at the bottom of the panel. The armrest is then unbolted from inside the seat. You can see the silver colored nut on the right side in the picture.

Thanks, that was extremely helpful! I was able to remove the rear seat cover with ease (now I can clean it real well too)... but I need to be a professional bodybuilder to turn that bolt! :) I'll get it!
