As old empty nesters the only one who rides in the back seat of our E350 is our dog. I want to remove the rear seat headrest to give me more rear visability. The owners manual says to fold the rear seatback forward and pull the rest out. The problem is I have basic seats that do not fold down. I tried to remove the rests but they hit the roof before they are out of the mount. Is there any way to remove the rest if the seat does not fold forward?

I asked the same question a few months ago here on this forum and got no replies. I guess we're the only two W212 owners that need to remove the rear headrest. I needed it so it will give our child seat a better fit.

Anyhow, I also don't have the rear folding seat option and can't pull the rear headrest out either. Like you said, there's not enough headroom clearance to remove it. Also, I noticed the rear headrests are somewhat angled and I can't push it to make it straight like the manual states you can.
