I am looking at what is involved with removing the rear bumper skin on my 1998 SL600 with the AMG body kit. It's going to need some body shop attention and my car is soon to be winterized. I'm hoping it can come off easily.

I'm sure somebody has pulled off a rear bumper skin?

Do a search here. It's been talked about before.

Basically remove your battery, there should be 2 screws there that hold that side of the bumper, two screws on the opposite direction (the other side where your CD player would be), and two more screws on the middle after your remove the trunk mat (right below the license plate but from the inside of the trunk).

6 screws and you are done. (the midde screws are the bigger ones). The bumper support bar is interchangagle between non-amg and amg sport bumpers.

Cool..... racing jobs is my "other" job, driving transports ....and I was a crew for Casey Mears during his driving in INDY Lights.

He's a good driver, needing a good car in NASCAR.

Montoya shouldn't get his hand on any of our Benzes as he failed to keep it up in F1 with McLaren Mercedes.

I am sorry folks, but life is tough :D
