My 81 240D has damage on the front passenger's side fender. I think that I will be able to pop out the dent if I get it off but I think it is glued or epoxied or something. I am sure that I have all the bolts off but I can't get the thing off. I'm pretty sure that the undercoating is what is keeping it on. Can I cut it off with utility knife from below or is there another way? I have to do this on another car soon as well. Any helpful techniques?

it seems to me that it is the top of the inside fender (above the wheel area) that is keeping it from moving. The diesel giant made it look so freakin easy!

Before I hit the deer, I passed up a body manual on ebay that only went for about $25. Stupid! This does not look like any kind of fun, but I guess I'll be going to Harbor freight for a torch and taking this on. The paint is ruined anyway, but I'll just have to be careful. Thanks again for the scans - that is awesome! Next time I'm in Portland, I'll buy you a beer!

I can get a heat gun from work. I think they use it to shrink wrap but at least it is a free place to start. This glue stuff is definitely going to pose a problem for the fender I was going to remove from an 81 gasser w123 I was planning to remove from the junk yard for my second project car.. I 'll just wait until I find a non glued fender for that one.
