My 81 240D has damage on the front passenger's side fender. I think that I will be able to pop out the dent if I get it off but I think it is glued or epoxied or something. I am sure that I have all the bolts off but I can't get the thing off. I'm pretty sure that the undercoating is what is keeping it on. Can I cut it off with utility knife from below or is there another way? I have to do this on another car soon as well. Any helpful techniques?

it seems like i remember reading about a place on the front fender that has to be cut if you want to remove it. is this where it meets the front valance under the bumper? i'm going to go look at the manual right now but i believe it is spot welded or something.

no problem any excuse to use my latest toy. (digital elph) it almost seems like a heatgun might work, without the potential drama of a torch.
