No such luck. My daughter put my wife's cc on top, turned a corner, and down it went. But not just inside the door slot, it dropped all the way to the bottom. I can actually see the previous owner has a CC down there as well, but I can't figure out how to remove additional stuff to get down there. There are two torx screws on either side of the slide rail for the top; they didn't do anything other than let me pull apart the rails enough to pull the flex door off. There are two torx screws below and to the outside of where the temp controller goes. I loosened them, but didn't see anything getting loose such that I could move it. There are also two larger torx bolts at the far rear behind where the flex door would close, but my 3/8" socket driver for my torx bits won't allow me to get to the angle I need to in order to try to take them out (will have to buy a torx "screw" driver just for this (assuming these bolts will allow me to pull out the unit (although it doesn't appear it will). So I'm at a loss as to how to get down underneath. Now that I've seen the PO's CC down there, I'm wondering what other treasures are down there with my wife's CC. Just no clue how to get farther than this. Any suggestions?

Just recovered a memory card that slipped forward...it is as easy as above...I used a round tip knife to pry of the trim piece and then just pulled the front edges of the wood trim up...it was that easy!!!

Thanks for this info and thread!!

Try fishing a pocket comb out??? Not fun

I think I just took the Booby Prize for weird stuff, I had a pocket comb get jammed crossways with the teeth facing back towards me.

After much drama, I managed to get it to move out of the way, I'm not sure it actually dropped all the way to the bottom to join the other debris on the hump. Of course, the temperature was dropping down through the lower 40s F heading for a predicted low in the high 20s. And the sun had gone down. It may bounce around and block things again, but at least I know what it is now.

Some warm Spring day I'll figure how to access that area, maybe from the driver's foot well and clear out all the accumulated trash.

Take care,
Mike

Ok.... since I couldn't find an answer here, In Alldata, on the web, etc... I decided to just dive into it. After checking it out and not seeing any screws I guessed it was clipped in which turns out to be correct. Here's how you do it and it will take you about 3 minutes

1. Remove the small trim plate around temp dials on dash near the bottom/center.
2. You will find two small T20 torx screws at the bottom. Remove them both
3. Remove temp assy and set over to side. No need to disconnect anything
4. Using a plastic trim removal tool, lightly/carefully pry around the front corners of the plastic/woodgrain cover.
5. It pops up in the front end and slides forward to remove the panel.

I found that a gum package had blocked the cover from openly and it was easily removed.

6. Now re-install the panel by sliding the back end in first since it has plastic hooks on that end and pop it back down in place.
7. Reinstall the rest and your almost finished
8. Drink a cold one of your choice.
9. Repeat step 8 as needed 👍:beerchugr:
