My 1965 404.115 has the factory rear heavy trailer hitch that I am not planning on using so I am trying to remove it. Yhere is a large pin with large cotter pins on each end that appears to hold the 2 pieces together. I had to cut off the cotter pins since the assembly was frozen from not being used. But I am not able to remove the pin. Looking at the actual coupler right in front of where the pin is there is a small hole that I think could be an allen screw that locks the pin but not sure. Does anyone know how to remove this hitch?

Well the tag is hard to read but it says Ringfeder GmbH Krefeld Type Unimog A Bauj 1964
D-Wert 66t G210. It looks like the hole is for a lube fitting and I am now able to hammer the pin out now so I think I am ok.

Well I got the pin to move almost all the way out until I got to the end where it is now mushroom shaped from all the pounding with heavy sledge hammer. Now I will have to start over trying to get it out the other side. I have used lots of penetrating oil and grease and that pin is just too tight to move. I think I will try heating the area around the pin to see if that helps.

Well the hitch is finally removed. The pin was seized in from not being used or lubricated.
