Uh no I believe I said the 97 s600 coupe with speed limiter removed will do 178 mph…Oops my bad misprint not 278 mph, 178mph haha 😂
I think that 178mph would be the mechanical (gearing) limit. I do not think that it will reach 178mph, it should be aerodynamically limited closer to 165-170.

Everything I’ve read has said 178 mph is top speed for a 97 s600 coupe. I’ve had mine to 155mph and you can tell it would have much more left to go. With the Lorrinser exhaust I have and high flow new C.A.R.B. Approved catalytic converters, Michelin Super Sport Pilots rated at 186mph (Y) rating, and 18” staggered monoblocs pretty sure I could hit 178mph

Take it from a guy who has gone 178 in a sports sedan. One with a smaller, lower-drag profile, the same transmission, and about 50 more horsepower on the same dyno - I don't think a 600 has it in the bag.

If you’re talking about a sl600, my buddy has one and as you say lower with better drag coefficient, my coupe is faster.
