I have an ongoing issue with my 2000 W220 S500 with a slow battery drain. We suspect it may be a faulty DCM on the front passenger side (this is a right-hand drive vehicle), because the soft close on the passenger side front door always stops working after one or two times after its fuse has been reset (pulled).

The question is, is it okay to remove the DCM and leave it out for a while in order to try and confirm that this is the cause of the slow battery drain?

Yes, that's fine, because I really need to get to the bottom of the slow battery drain problem. I know the normal steps for diagnosing this problem, but unfortunately I do not have sensitive enough equipment to measure the fuses once the car is in sleep mode.

Does anyone know if a faulty DCM could be causing the soft close to stop working on that door?
