Remote locking intermittent

Has anyone else had problems with the remote locking?
I have a C320 with about 4,000 miles on it. Since day one I have had a problem with the remote locks only woking about 50% of the time.
If the passager door is opened before the drivers door, this will case it not to work. When I say not work, none of the remote key functions work (including trunk). The red light on the remote flashes that's about it. It does matter which of my two remote keys I use.
I took it to the dealer and they could not fix it. I can only correct it when it happens by getting back into the car, closing the door, inserting and turning key and locking doors from the dash. Then take out key, open door, get out, close and lock with remote.
Sometimes I have to get back into the car and drive it to fix it. Other times I give up and lock it with the pull out metal key manualy. Any ideas/help???

How cold is it in your area ??

This has happened to me several times and the only coincidental thing was that the temp was below 40 deg.
On warmer days, the problem never occured. It seems the mechanism gets stuck. Same experience with the dealer. No help.
Vince
: Has anyone else had problems with the remote locking?
I have a C320 with about 4,000 miles on it. There is a well know problem with C class keys. The problem is with the key itself, MB has a fix and has been releasing new keys. Your dealer should know about this problem. There are a limited number of keys, so getting one my be difficult in the short-term. This topic has been discussed a great deal on the Edmunds Mercedes-Benz C-Class Owners Town Hall.
Good luck.
Robert
Re: How cold is it in your area ??

Although I am in Minnesota and it gets very cold here, it is not temperature related. It was 80 degrees f yesterday and it still happened. It is occuring more & more (almost daily).

It also does not seem to be mechanical.
I am having the same problem. I live in Florida so this not a temp. related problem, it is a M>B> prooblem. Mine have stop working now and I can only lock it with the metal key.
A common problem is failure of the antenna amp glued to the top of the rear glass. First, check fuse #8 on the rear SAM. If it's good, then the amp may have failed. A final thing to try is changing the key between local and locking, which can sometimes "wake up" the RCL function. On the SmartKey fob, simultaneously press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons until the LED indicator on the fob blinks. Now use the key int he ignition, then remove it and repeat the process.
My ML350 REMOTE will fully lock 3 doors and tailgate. The driver's door button goes down part way. Door can open turning on alarm. I can fully lock using metal key. I lubed the mechanism withWD40. Any suggestions ?

Sounds like you have a bad door lock actuator. It's probably not the mechanical lock, but the servo or gears inside the lock mechanism itself.
