Any one know what i can do to restore my dash and center consol on my slk230? I just bought it and there are spots that are chipping off ... is there a dye i can order ...Or what have some of you done ? Thanks
has anyone found color you can get custom mixed thats close? If so whts the color code ? I dont really want to wait for it toget shipped ... I took it to a shop to fix it and they kept my car for two weeks ! And did nothing! So im just going to do it myself ....
Jo,.. Viponds is in Australia,.. he sells and ships you the can of paint ,.. you then apply it yourself. His shipping is fast and the amount you will receive is enough to touch up or paint your interior for a lifetime... heck, may even want to paint your tiolet the same colour if it suits you.
I used the Volico spray paint, I removed and stripped the lower console, glovebox and repainted those parts they still look great and no chipping.
I touched up the upper console and dash & it still chips and peels.
My 2c, its better to strip and repaint than just touch up. a lot of work but worth it.
It's been so long since I've seen my roof switch light on that I can't remember when it lights up.
Is it lit up when you start the car, turn the lights on, or only when you lower or raise the roof?
Well it has finally happened to me! the transmission would intermittently go into limp mode maybe once a month, then it was becoming more frequent to once a week.
codes came up for n3 sensor failing and surprise, surprise very common on the 722.6 (5 speed auto transmission).
New here, my first post and my first 2001 slk 320. Got the car and after 50miles, check engine light came on. Finally had the time to hookup and read the codes.
P0410, p0170, p0173, p0410, p0130, p0150, p0155 and p0135.
Found the issue to be in the k40 relay. soldered a few connections and...
simple to check if yours has failed (this applies to any R170). open up the lid to black box compartment in engine bay where ECU is located. turn the car igntion to the ON position (2) but no need to start the car.
go back to the box and move your hand around the top (dont touch anything) and...
