Sorry about digging this up from the past, but surely for this mod to work, the car has to have some kind of remote boot release mechanism already? Is this something that all W245s have or can have added?Actually popping up the trunk seems to be an easy task, but you have to do it on your own risk.
First, you have to buy a three buttons key case as this one (around 14 usd)

Second, get the chip out of your key, you will notice two switchs ( buttons) are on the board, and in the place of the third button are only two silver metal connectors.
All you have to do is get a button that is the same size (in my case was a button from an old MP3 played) and then solder it to those silver connectors.
Be extra careful not to burn anything on the chip by overheating.
Last, insert the chip and the battery into the new case with the three buttons.
Now everytime you need to popup the trunk just keep pressing the third button for three seconds and.....magic happends
Charence..No one here has a remote lifting B (W245) hatch..as it was never an option. You press the button to unlock and then manually lift the hatch up..... Is this something that all W245s have or can have added?
Tested on my father in laws w245I just bought a B200 and should get it very soon, and I'm very excited. This is my first post here (yay!)
Has anyone ever considered this illuminated star? Is it even available for the B-class? I think it looks pretty sweet.

Very nice! Could you share how much it cost and the work it took to install it?
No one here has ever mentioned changing the dash colour in the B Class,...or if it's even possible.
Thanks mocab180You have to take out the cluster, dissemble the cluster completely to the circuit board. Then you have to unsolder old SMD diodes ( orange/yellow ones) them solder new white SMD diodes.
The display is the way it is. You can't modify it. You could try to buy a polarizing screen and overlay it over the top. So the orage-ish color appears to be white. Thanks mocab180
What about the middle LCD? Is it possible to change it to white led?

You can't edit the color of the lcd display by software, or via physical way ( changing bulbs, etc.). There is no aftermarket screen with white color to buy - to replace the stock unit.
If you need to replace the screen it's pretty simple plug and play![]()
Thank you Gole for correcting me, i didn't know that you could dismantle it.:smileHello to all...
Not true... display also have SMD backlight illumination on main board. You can easy change it in color what you like as on instruments.
