Currently at $500 for both.... an EXCELLENT price. Too bad that they are vinyl though.

Jaymanek... I've seen Recaro C's used in primarily older 126's, but the ones towards end of production had CSE's. Which one of the 2 models do you find to be more comfortable and "better"? I personally like the look of the CSE's in Gen II's but wouldn't mind having either.

The CSE's or classic C's are much better.. they are slightly wider and the orthopaedic functions are better. I have them on my 500E.

In a Gen II car, the classics are the correct fitment..

However they are so rare that you cant grumble at a set of Ideal C's..

p.s. these seats fetch around 1000 EUR on german ebay.

Just so I know what is what..

the following is a CSE:

Recaro Classic C:

Recaro Idealsitz C:

Which one of the three came out in the late 80's/early 90's?

The CSE was a later seat altogether... I think they came after classic C's and were intended for later models than W126's..

oh, I was hoping nobody would post this as I'm bidding on it, lol. I'm about 30mins form the seller. These were mistitled as othropeds so I figured off most collectors radar screens.

Recaro CSE's are like Ideal and Classic Cs, but have far more functions/buttons....Gemballa fitted CSEs to my Gemballa, which is a 1987 car. Bram's website will show a few w126s with CSEs.

I have found immaterial difference between Ideal and Classic Cs, they are virtually noe and the same thing.

CSE's are almost the same, but with all those buttons, they 'feel' a bit more special.

The best are the Orthopads that i have in my Black 500e...sporty with support but so much more comfortable than a Classic or Ideal.

I go a set of these yesterday for 140 Euros !!!!!!

lol, I have looked at it over 600 times, so that leaves a few other players. Let's see how it turns out tonight.

Now it's an open topic, I can ask the board it's opinion on redying the grey leather to a camel tan - any thoughts?

It's the last 5 minutes you have to worry about with snipers.

Roy and Henric I think are the experts when it comes to recoloring. I know there have been a couple of posts on it. You should get them re-covered professionally in leather. I may be doing that myself. I went down to my leather guy and asked him for an estimate. $2400.00 for both front seats, all 4 pieces of the rear seats and all four door card inserts done in the color of my choice with the center sections perforated like OEM. I intend to leave the rear center bolster in black and not go white if I go that way. Too much white back there.

Oh, I only snipe when I bid - I'll leave it to the last 10 secs and fate.

$2400 is not too bad for 4 seats and inserts - I'll look forward to seeing your post on this.

The more I think about it, the more I realise what a bargain these were! I'm totally stoked that the konsoles are included too

I'll be picking them up at the weekend and probably taking them to:

RECARO & other Replacement Seats

On the small off-chance they are leather (who knows, he thought they were orthopeds afterall) I've spoken to George at Leatherique who says this would be a very simple and straight forward color change with dramatic results (his words, not mine!)

I'll be matching them to the other tans I have, attached...

OMG, that looks perfect! I have been hesitant in taking mine places because I heard Recaro's are not an easy resto job. Please keep us updated, I'd like to know the specifics. I'd love to take mine there :)
