Dear Roadster Enthusiasts,

We have a 1997 SL500. The rearview mirror has become loose to the point where top down driving causes the mirror to vibrate quite a bit. Is there anything we can do to repair this issue short of replacing the entire mirror?

Grab the unit and pull down hard, it is made to detach if in accident. Once the unit is off you will see the nut that needs to be tightened. To replace align the spring grasp and push to secure. Have done it several times on different SL's.
