Having another rear screen fitted today on insurance :( The original one lasted 14 years before it delaminated and stopped the rear heated element working (milky colour seen at the edges of the screen - common on W140's ). The replacement (genuine Mercedes) has only lasted 3 years ! The company that fitted it say it only has a 1 year warranty and that their work is only covered for 2 years !!!! My insurance company are no longer with that glass supplier (Autoglass) and have now gone to RAC and they give a 5 year warranty on parts and labour ;)
The screen has delaminated again and only demists about 3 lines of the rear screen - thats why it's being replaced again :0
Another £50 though :( ££££Kerrrchiinnngggg !!! Hope it lasts a bit longer this time !

A one year warranty!? All they have to do is fit the damn thing! I guess they don't have much faith in their own work

Nope - and the first one they fitted cracked across the bottom due to them hammering the surround trim on !!! It took an extra week to get a replacement from Mercedes ! Lets see how this new lot fare ;) I've already given them a few pointers (i.e it's a two man job ! ).
