One of my young children has had a big pull at my internal rear view mirror and broken something inside - so that the mirror moves all about the place.

A couple of previous posts talk of disassembling the mirror and using double-sided tape to put things back in order on the inside.

How I can actually take the mirror off and open it up is not immediately apparent to me. Can anyone help? There is some sort of screw (?) on the back of the mirror - is that the way in -if so, what do I use?

As it is, my car is undrivable (at least legally), so some help would be much appreciated.

The mirror is held in place by a spring loaded plunger, gently ermove the panel ahead of the mirror, you will see the connector for electric mirror. I have been told it pulls straigt down with a little help from a small screw driver
