I'm sure this is on the forum somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Anyway, I have a 1996 S600 and the rear sunshade is stuck in the down position. When I hit the switch, you can hear it making noise as if it is going up, then stops. Then when you hit the switch to go down, you can hear it retract. Has anyone had this problem? Is there something back there it can get stuck on?

Hey First Time Poster! Welcome aboard!!

Your sunshade may be out of alignment, the tracks on which the sunshade retracts might be in need of lubrication, or your sunshade motor might need to be replaced.

Also: Check your rear headrests and see if they go up and down without issue.

Both of these elements are lightly used and more often than not, not using something will bring on more problems than using them. Keep that in mind!

And good luck!!

Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm hoping it just needs some lubrication. It was working a few months ago just fine, but I rarely use it.

The head rests work great, my kids make sure of that.:bash:

Ha, my rear shade goes up and down, but sometimes when it is in the up position and I try to let it down, only one of the arms move and the other one just stays there. I then have to go back there and move the stuck one a bit so it will go down. Then there is the click click click click noise if I don't let the button go after it has gone down. LOL, but oh well.
