On my ML430 with broken rear springs -- When looking up part numbers for the rear struts, there is an option for with or without tire carrier and the part numbers are different. Looking online for country versions other than the US the tire rack hangs off the rear bumper. My thought is that having the rear tire carrier with the full size spare will add some extra weight to the back of the truck. Given that, the spring load ratings would be higher to help with the added weight???. Now... I do pull a 3,000 pound camper 6 to 8 times a year.
Should i go with the heavy duty struts or stay with the standard?? Not sure how the ride would be without the added weight.

any thoughts?
