I have a pair and they cover about 95% of it. The shape of the top of the window interdicts 100% coverage.

Although they're not built into the door capping as they were in my French Scénic from 2005, one advantage of these over the Renault blinds is that when they are on, the driver can let them down from the driver's seat by lowering completely and then raising the rear windows again. My kids like them.

The price is silly....I got 20% off and it was still silly, about $100 per side.

$100 per side and already 20% off! They are quite expensive (well, any MB accessories not expensive?).

Could you mind posting a pic of the blind (from inside of the car). The pic in the catalog does not show the whole thing and I can't really tell how much it covers.

Wow!! Thanks for your great effort!!

So the right side of the window is not covered completely... I rather how big an issue it would be for my 1 year old son...

Would you mind taking another pic during the daytime? Hope I am not asking for too much.

I could try again in the sun, sure.

Other than the 7-8 cm maximum on the rear of the side window, everything else is covered, and so any sunlight getting in the very rear would not affect your son's eyes unless his head was turned 90 degrees towards the window and the sun was right there. So in other words it's nearly perfect for that purpose, and better than any aftermarket blind I've seen.

About the discount....Three Point Motors in Victoria has an annual "Garage Sale" with 20 off everything in mid-October, so we went there and bought $1500 worth of stuff for our smart car and the B-Class about a month ago. Roof bars, ski rack, blinds, trunk tray, oil filters, brake pads......

I guess you would have to wait until next year?

If you are a member of the MBCA, they will give 10% off parts, accessories and service, year-round.

Hi Mike

Was in Victoria in October, wished I had known about the sale. Do they advertise in paper or just at dealership? Hopefully you will post information next year about the sale. Maybe can save enough money for Tea at the Empress.

(never admit it gets cold, southern BC does have a rep:) to live up to)

You mentioned buying oil filters, are you draining the oil or sucking it out? If sucking the oil what type of pump are you using?

I will post the info about the garage sale here next year, it is a low-key advertisement to existing customers!

I have a Pela oil extractor pump, and mainly I will be changing the smart's oil, but probably the B at 10.000 km too....

I have the blinds too, and I like 'em. Sure, they are expensive, but they are tailormade for the car and are very easy to install.

Are you guys having trouble getting them up without any wrinkles in them ??
In the summer, I keep the blinds up all the time and I HATE driving around with wrinkled blinds (I know, I'm seeking council), and sometimes it takes some fumbling to do it properly.

No, it's the same old lock button, which is a little harder to grasp with the blind in place...

Yes they are a tiny bit wrinkled when first stretched out, but in the summer I imagine the wrinkles would disappear quickly on a hot day! It was about 1 degree C when I took that photo!

I'm thinking of disabling the auto-lock function so the rear passengers will stop reminding me to release the door lock! It's pretty hard for them to reach the door lock buttons even without the blinds in place.

Hi guys,

My B200 should be delivered next week so I am now looking for some accessories. I would like to ask about the installation of this blind. Does anyone has the instructions? As I see from the photos there is a screw and I wonder if drilling is required for installing

Thanks

Congrats on the new car!

You can install it yourself, and there is no drilling. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver.

There are two thin steel sliding elements that sneak into the space between the window channel and the rubber seal, and once they're slipped in behind, the two screws are tightened up, which clamps the blind in place. It takes about two minutes a side and they can be removed without a trace. Instructions are supplied with the blind.

Thanks alot.

I think i will get them. I wonder why MB offers a screen type blind for the tailgate on the A class but doesn't have anything for the B. Do you guys think the screen type blind on the A class will fit the B?

Thanks
