I have a 2000 E320 Wagon with rear self leveling shocks. They seen not to be working anymore.

The question is, can I just replace them with regular shocks?

Thanks in advance~!

Most of the time the "accumulators" fail, and cause a spongey ride, when they do finally fill with oil the ride becomes hard. The shocks "struts" usually last a long time, anusually start seeping.
To use conventional shocks you must do some bypass plumbing, and I am not sure but have heard that the springs have to be changed or shimmed, aso there is a question as to what shock will fit.
You must further understand the self leveling pump also controls your power steering, have someone look at your system!

Does anyone know where to buy the thinner coil spring pads? I think it's like #1 or something like that? Looking to try to lower the car some more.

I don't know if I asked that right.

Sorry, I just got this car so I am new at this.
