Anyone know the correct wattage for the bulb? removed a 13Watt burned out one,the lens part sure is toasted? why so hot?

I think the bulb wattage should be written by or above the socket in the rear light assembly.

btw I don't remember ever seeing a 13watt bulb in my car :D it seems odd to me, I will take a look later today and post back

Has GE 93, echo en Mexico on it! looked it up on amazon ,says 13W

It's gotta be so 'hot' to be seen thru all the smoke U and the monkey create! :p

Well .... I'm puting a 13w back in,After the new window tint,don't want to melt it with all the heat in there.

The rear side marker light is a small bulb although you can fit a turn signal/brake light bulb in there. When I did that, it melted the housing.

I'm going to look at the owners manual for my SE ,should have the wattage in it.

States High Mounted Brake Lamp should be 21 watt,side marker 10 watt,strange how both w124 have crispy HMBL housings,guess its the sun plus bulb heat=BBQ

The P21W bulb won't melt the window tint...lol! The lens for the light was poorly designed and comes very close or contacts the bulb, so that's why it melts into a blob. I imagine sitting with the brakes on a lot or riding them doesn't help either. I ended up replacing mine, so we'll see how long they actually last before melting.
