I've searched around and haven't found a whole lot, so I figured I would see what you guys have to say. This only happens under moderate to hard braking when the car is downshifting into first, and usually only on flat or downhill grades, never on uphill. Is it the rear end failing to catch up with the transmission? Inside the car you can feel a definite push from the rear, not so much slamming forward but it's noticable when it does it and it sounds a lot worse than in the video. I haven't heard it from outside the car and I know these cars are notorious for amplifying any noises.

Sway bar links broken? Flex disks in good shape? As Kent says the boots in good shape make those axels bullet proof.

check the bolt that holds the axle to the brake hub. mine were loose and created a lot of clunking sounds. with the wheel off, grab the axle and start wiggling to see what moves back there. while there take a look at rear rubber donut on drive shaft. - note, car must not have park brake on or be in gear to tell. -

Really can't hear much from that, check your sway bar end links.

And those two bolts at the rear of the brake hub caliper (you can see them from a rear view looking forward)
I'll check it out, thanks guys.
