Has anyone replaced the rear door speakers in their 202? One of mine is not sounding good and upon furthur inspection, I believe the surround on the speaker has weakened (cheap foam).

I think I also have to yank the door panels off to get these suckers off because one screw holding the bracket in, is buried up underneath beyond reach.

Any ideas? Thanks

well i have 2 links for u top check out, maybe help your situation. the first is removal of the door speakers without the extensiveness of tearing off the panel, which i dont know why you need to unless ur screw has been mangled up into the slot its sort of situated in? this is for the front doors, but im sure alot of the info is just as relevant with the rears.

MercedesShopWiki: DIY door speaker swap in the 1998 C230

this second link is for actual removal or the door panel, again its the front door but similar im sure.

hope this helps.

Thanks for the links!

Yeah rear door bracket of speaker is much different than front in terms of removal. Pull off your grille and you'll see what im referring to as the screw that im not able to get to. I have an updated model 202 with the different door panels...dont know how it is on the older model.
