95 W124 E300D I have a slight clunking when the car shifts, Could anyone point me to the thread.

If the clunking noise can be replicated whenever the car is shifted into reverse, then the prime suspect are the 4 diff mount bushings.

yes i have this problem its the diff bushings i think it's 2 on the rear of the diff
i changed the axe bushings and the noise was still thear

Another bushings that deserve your attention would be the bushings on the low control arm or the rear hub, in reference to Items no 8 / 26. If the clunking noises come with a speed change, it would be your differential.

Thank you for the reply's.
I'll need to investigate a little further.
Since everything I've done to this vehicle so for was replace original parts I'm expecting these bushings were put in, in 1995 as well.
