I had a rear flat tire. Changed the tire with the spare that I had using the same lug bolts that were on the flat tire. After I replaced the tire the rear brakes locked.
Tried to take the spare tire off but three of bolts kept spinning.
I gave up & had the car towed to my house.
Any ideas as why my brakes locked up & why my lug bolts are spinning ?

Yea, Jetta Red, I was able to get three of the five bolts out but the other two bolts keep spinning so I am unable to get the tire off to assess the damage, - I assume the other two bolts are stripped.
Now what ?

In doing more research appears I should have used the lug bolts that were with the spare which I did not.
Still unable to remove spare tire , it appears I stripped the bolts when I used the wrong lug bolts to install the spare tire. I removed three of the five bolts but the remaining two only spin when I try to remove them. I can hardly wait to see what damage I've done to the brakes. Any ideas how to remove the remaining two bolts ?
