Mirbach.de has some awfully nice cars.

This one's a lovely Almandine, creme velour seats, just 39k on it, AMG monoblocks, sport/economy switch, manual AC controls, euro bumpers, headlights and tail lights, and headlight wipers. It's EXACTLY how I would want it. Curious, it has NO airbags, or front/rear burlwood console boxes either. DAMMIT, why couldn't you get them like this in the USA?

I would just love to own this one. Just about kill to get one like it in fact. This is a really hard to find color. Sold for a high price too.

1990 500SEC? Is that a typo or I am not informed well enough? I thought 500 ran only till 85. No hydrolic rear suspention either....

Not a typo. In USA, '85 was the last year for the 500.

But not in Europe, South Africa and England, and elsewhere. The 500 motor was offered until the very end (early 1992)

Some of them, the ECE motors, didn't even have cats. Although, by 1990 in Germany, they did.

Very different situation in Germany. The basic 420SEC in '90, for example, came equipped without airbags, leather seats, airconditioning, alloy wheels (you got steelies with plastic hubcaps) or a sunroof.

You started with a very basic car and built it up with accessories you wanted.

To add to Cascade's post... the post 1986 500's had more power than the pre-1986 500's.
