The dash isn't as bad as it's made out to be. I think the key is to make reference when you're taking it off. Take the instrument cluster out (slides out, be sure to disconnect everything in the back) and take both under dash panels off (pop off the blue clips and take out the few screws). There are two bolts on both end of the dash, two under the speaker covers (take these off, you don't have to take the speakers out, just disconnect them) and I believe 3 in the middle. The middle ones are accessable if you pop out the wood trim/four switch (ant, dome etc) assembly out. Taking the center wood strip off will also give you access but I couldn't reach it from behind.
It is very hard (and believe me I tried) to get it out with the steering wheel on! There is a hex/allen bolt in the center of the steering wheel (take the horn pad and center cap off) that will let you take the steering wheel right off but when I did it, I couldn't crack it with what I had. The way I avoided the steering wheel was by loosening the two nuts on the U bolt holding the steering column up. These are super easy to get at and the whole column falls into your lap. Also you don't have to mark your steering postion etc as you have to do if you take the steering wheel right off. With the steering column loosened, it'll give you enough space to get the driverside corner out.
Once you've done all that, it shouldn't be a problem to get it moving. From there, all I did was disconnect any last binding hoses/wires. The vent hoses will have to come off, glove compartment, as well as some random ties but it's all pretty evident.
I think that's all you'll need. I'll snap some pics right now to give you a good picture what to expect.
Yay...see it'll help already to get some real shots out there!
Best and good luck.
