YES Sir... from my almost 2yrs of ownership of 04 clk55, bought cpo 20K miles for 23K USD.

Motor Mounts (failed after blower installed and several launches) :)
Crank Position Sensor @ 27K miles
Front susp bushings don't rem which ones failed @ 24K miles
Cd Changer is starting to die a slow death.... optical connection is known to fail.
3rd brake light cracked @ 26K miles..... known problem
Mass Air Sensor died @ 22k miles (i prob caused this with installing oiled kandN air filters)

Other issues to watch for:
03 models and some 04's.... valeo radiator will fail and mix trans oil/wc coolant.
cam position sensor

Not-too-common but costly repairs:
fan control wiring can fail causing fan to run at high speed all the time..... very costly repair for just some wiring.
Fuel pump can fail...... can be spendy out of warranty
Water pump can fail...... I think it's 1K at dealership.
Brakes on the 05 and up cars are spendy to R*R.

Thanks for the heads up

I don't know, that seems like a lot of problems for a car with only 20k miles. I'm looking for a '02 CKL55, but now I'm concerned.

I have an 04 CLK55 bought about 18 months ago and have put 35k miles on it. It currently has 97k miles.

-Replaced regulator (<$100) or you can get a rebuilt alternator for <$200)
-Crankshaft Position Sensor (<$100 @ Autohauz). They all go on Mercedes around 100k. Better to change it out proactively and not let it strand you on the road.

That's it other than normal maintenance. I don't think the Valeo radiator is an issue for the year you are looking at.

This is the best car I have ever owned. Good luck.
