i searched and stumbled across this page

i thought that the instructions were wrong...but forgot that the UNLOCK button is NOT the trunk button

hahahahaha. i realized that as i was typing up a question for you knowledgable MB gurus~!



fyi....i read the beloved manual for my 1999 ML 320..dunno why the only thing about keys is what the buttons do...nothing at all about resyncing. i.e this page WAS NOT IN THE 1999 MANUAL

might be useful for the other 1999 owners to save the pic!

I didn't think you could resynch your own keys on the 99. I don't think that started till the first redo of the car in 2000. It would be a good reason why it's not in your manual

Have you tried this on your car?

yessir.
hence the smiley [:D]
if it actually didnt work...
id have ended the post with [xx(][:(!][V]

the key was programmed at the dealer...just lost sync somehow *shrug* drove home 2 nights ago...pulled into the car port and pushed the button to lock the car with no result. <insert sad face>

replaced the battery.

car still didnt respond to remote functions [V]

read manual. no content on re-syncing [xx(]

finally understood directions [:D]
