Re: Couple questions about a 1982 300TD recently purchased

Hey guys, I am a w124 300TE owner, however, my parents just purchased a 1982 white with black interior 300TD. My friend sold me the wagon. It has 136,000 miles on it, the interior is rediculously nice. The outside is real nice, however, there is rust around one of the jacking points and underneath one of the rear fenders. All else is sweet. He serviced it regularly with a great independent. Just a couple of questions on a few things. Two of the windows do not roll down which I know is the switches or fuse. The great thing is that it was coverted to r134 for the ac and we just charged it and it blows cold. However, when I was driving home, I smelled exhaust or fuel and started getting dizzy. I rolled down the windows and it got better. I did some research and is it the fuel injector seals or return lines that can be doing this? What would be making this come into the cabin? Thanks guys, Hutch

You may have a jumper (return) line leak, not unusual, simply inspect and replace if necessary.

An exhaust leak would probably be the flex down pipe on the manifold.
