Has anyone heard of RBTech Performance Tuning 1830 S. Figueroa St. LA, CA. I met with Ralph Biase who worked for MB for 12 years and recently opened up the shop. They have an after market carbon fiber air box for MB E Class that will work with our E55. They also do several other mods.

I wanted to know if anyone has had experiences with them and what your thoughts are. The air box runs $1250 and includes the K&N filters and a carbon fiber cover that replaces our current engine cover. They said that they are the only one with it. Doesn't the E55 already have better intake? What is this going to do for us?

They also mentioned that we should not consider changing shocks on the E55s. The current Bilsteins have been revalved by AMG and will perform better than the sport Bilsteins. In fact, changing the springs for H&R would be the most economical way to go without compromising performance/handling. This option costs $400 installed.
I am looking for your advice....

I had my 98 E430 Sport modified by RBtech a month ago (i had the complete RBtech package for Remapping the ECU to the European Version, Airbox, and complete RBtech exhaust system) I am very satified with the result. According to RBtech's figure, now my E430 has increased 34hp, (from 275~309) and a massive 83lb torque gain from the stock 295 to 378. Here is my impression after the modification, throttle reponse was faster, and you can feel MORE torque, and the exhuast sounded way better than my old amg muffler. I would highly recommand RBtech, both Ralph and his partner, who used to work for Brabus were very knowledgeable about any mercedes cars, and the best part, their price is considerablly cheap for the quality of work they did. They dislike Renntech's outragous pricing very much!
For philguy: I think RBtech have their own springs and shocks, both are shorter than H&R and Bilstein's, and with their camber kit, they can slam ur car to the ground without any camber or toe problems.
There is one interesting option for those who has an E430 and wants to kill an E55 :) Go to RBtech and get a sports differencial modification, i think this guy Ralth whose working in RBtech had done everthing that a E430 could possibly done, ask him about the sports differencial and his car!
Oh, there is one Brabus 6.5 based on the 97E420 that has 450 hp and a top speed of 190+mph on sale, go check it out!
